I have been a member of the club since 1985 which was before I took the Radio Amateur’s Exam. I learned morse code at the club with the help of Ian, G4MLW,  before applying for the licence in 1986.

I have held the positions on the committee of ordinary member, assistant secretary, secretary, vice chairman and chairman in the past.

My interest in radio is mainly construction and playing with circuits rather than operating.  What operating I have done over the years has been mainly cw but my skills have dwindled somewhat.

Other interests

Gardening, particularly fruit and vegetables

Hill walking, especially in the English Lake District

Caravanning, mostly with the Amateur Radio Caravan and Camping Club   ARCC

The friendly radio club!
